July marks bobby’s entrance to forte group, as well as his first job since the recent completion of his national service (ns) stint.
The outgoing 22 year old previously studied at Temasek Polytechnic and has experience in the service industry.
Bobby first chanced upon the industry via a career talk, and was later introduced to Forte through a childhood friend who had also previously been in the industry.
“I joined this industry because I want to ensure that people are educated,” Bobby affirms brightly.
“I think it’s important for me to identify key takeaways so that clients learn something from the discussion. I feel proper knowledge and planning are vital for achievement of your personal goals.”
To Bobby, being an empathetic listener comes naturally, a soft skill shaped by his experiences as an air steward.
“I find it easy to understand the needs of others, as well as helping others to feel comfortable. It’s always been my job as member of the service profession to extend my assistance to the emotions of others.”
Bobby seeks to forge long-term relationships with his clients. Seasoned with leadership roles in both school and NS, he also hopes to take up managerial roles in the future.
“I think it’s important to grow together,” he remarks. “Over time, I want to gain experience and impart lessons I’ve learned to new financial planners. I wish to one day provide more value to my colleagues by leading a team, and I hope that we can perform together.”
Outside of work, Bobby spends most of this time with his friends. Aside from playing sports such as basketball and badminton, he admits to having a love of karaoke and good cuisine.
“I enjoy something that I call recreational eating,” he jokes. “I love all kinds of food, a consequence of experiencing many different cuisines back when I used to travel a lot. My friends and I will often journey to specific restaurants and even Johor Bahru for food and beverages.”
